What You’ll Do as a Pallet Jack Operator

As a Pallet Jack Operator at Target’s bustling El Monte warehouse, you’ll play a crucial role in our supply chain operations. Your primary responsibility will be the efficient and safe movement of goods within the warehouse. You’ll be an integral part of the team ensuring that products are stored and shipped accurately, supporting the seamless flow of merchandise from our warehouse to our customers. In this hands-on role, you’ll be working with both manual and electric pallet jacks in a dynamic environment where teamwork and safety are paramount.

Your Daily Tasks as a Pallet Jack Operator

Efficient Product Transportation

Your main task will be to operate manual and electric pallet jacks, transporting pallets, products, and materials throughout our large industrial warehouse. You’ll be responsible for loading and unloading goods onto trucks, trailers, and into designated storage areas with precision and care.

Safety and Compliance

Ensuring safety is a top priority. You’ll secure pallets properly to prevent damage or hazards, adhering to all safety regulations. Routine inspections of your equipment will be crucial to maintaining safety standards. Reporting any malfunctions or issues promptly will help keep operations running smoothly.

Organization and Cleanliness

Part of your role includes keeping the loading docks, storage areas, and workspaces clean and organized. You’ll assist in staging materials for shipment, following warehouse workflows and schedules to ensure timely departures.

Team Collaboration

You’ll work closely with inventory teams, tracking and replenishing stock in picking and packing areas. This collaboration ensures our products are always ready for shipment, meeting customer demands efficiently.

Additional Activities

Beyond the core tasks, you’ll frequently assist in the preparation of shipping documents, help with periodic inventory counts, and participate in team meetings to discuss daily objectives and safety protocols.

What You Need to Be a Pallet Jack Operator

Educational and Experience Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. While prior experience in material handling or warehousing is preferred, it is not mandatory. Having 1+ years in the field as a Pallet Jack Operator will be advantageous.

• Proficiency in Equipment Operation: Familiarity with manual and electric pallet jacks is crucial.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
